Review on the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-light Fluid

It's been a while since I do any sun protection products review. My skin haven't been doing well lately BUT I'm just happy that I find a few sun protection products that works and make me feel good.

This year, La Roche-Posay developed the new [XL]-PROTECT™ techology -an innovative combination of filtering system and antioxidant protection to ensure optimal protection from UVB to long UVA rays and to counteract infrared and pollution.

La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-light Fluid with SPF50+, a product that is suitable for sensitive and sun intolerant skin.

Offering the highest UVB and UVA protection, the Anthelios XL Ultra-light Fluid is formulated with an optimised version of their patented filter system. Mexoplex®, which offers very high, broad-spectrum UVB-UVA protection even against long UVAs.

Thanks to the right doe of new sensorial oils, it glides on easily on the skin for a uniform protection. The exclusive association of powder trio- Zinc Gluconate, Perlite and Silica, provides sebum neutralising and instrant absorbent action for a non-sticky, non-oily finish that feels like bare skin.

Suitable for all skin types but especially ideal for combination skin. The optimised filtering system also ensures no white marks.

  • fragrance and parabens free
  • Hypoallergenic
  • non-comedogenic
  • very water-resistant

I like that this is a non-perfumed product~

Ingredients list of the La Roche-Posay Anthelios XL Ultra-light Fluid

Made in France!

  • The consistency of the fluid is pretty watery... it does feel a little "oily" (but not really oily type of feeling)
  • When you spread out the product on the skin, it does feel very fresh, moisturizing and a bit oily (maybe because of the silica... it the illusion of feeling oily) It feels like I'm applying serum on the skin.
  • Skin does look wet and moist when I first apply the fluid, but it absorbed quite well and fast
  • The fluid spread easily on the skin without dragging nor pulling the skin
  • Once absorbed skin doesn't look oily nor feeling oily
  • Doesn't feel sticky too
  • No strong weird scent .. just smell like sunblock/sunscreen
  • No white cast nor residue
  • Doesn't cause any break-out (no pimples)
  • Doesn't irritate my poor skin
  • Work quite well as a sunblock as I didn't burn my skin while I'm out under the sun
  • While using under my makeup - doen't make my skin feel oily nor mess up my foundation
  • A lot of very water-resistant product (especially sun protection product) can be very drying on the skin. I do not experience any dryness or tightness of my skin when I'm using this product.
Overall... I love the texture and finishing of this products...  it feels like a serum on the skin, very light and fresh. What I love best was that this product doesn't irritate my skin when my skin was feeling extra sensitive. (itchy, redness and dry)

Not sure if I left out anything.... but if you have any questions, you can ask me in the comment, instagram or email me... I'm more then happy to answer them.

A little bit about my skin... if you are new to my blog -
I used to have combination skin (which is a little oily on the nose) but as I age... my skin become quite drying and most of the time, my skin just feel dry and once awhile dehydrated...  (dry skin and dehydrated skin lor... it's not the same)

So I prefer products that was meant for dry skin usually... but when I have dehydrated skin, I will reach for products that was meant for combination skin.

If you ask me... I rather have combination skin or oily skin then dry skin (cos dry skin not easy to manage lor).
